WomenInAI, an initiative towards gender-inclusive AI

It is generally perceived that men are reaping the benefits of opportunities provided by Artificial Intelligence (AI). We will not dive into this argument of men vs women in AI. But rather introduce you to a unique initiative by WomenInAI.

Women in AI (WAI) is a nonprofit working towards a gender-inclusive AI that benefits global society and raise the next generation of women leaders in the field. Their mission is to increase female representation and participation in AI. They are community-driven initiative bringing empowerment, knowledge and active collaboration via education, research, events and blogging.

Women in AI have 1000+ members from 60+ diverse countries. It is co-founded by Moojan Asghari (Project Manager at Sigfox), Dr. Hanan Salam (holds PhD in Artificial Intelligence) and Caroline Lair (Account Executive at Snips). It has partners ranging from Microsoft, Facebook, myTaxi, Bloomberg and many more.
