Meet India’s first humanoid Robocop KP-BOT

The Kerala Police has become the first police force in India to induct a robot named ‘KP-BOT’. It is modelled as a woman sub-inspector. Women empowerment and gender equality were kept in mind while deciding on the gender of the first robot. It is developed by Kochi-based Asimov Robotics Pvt Ltd in association with Cyberdome, Kerala Police’s research centre. It is first such robot in India and fourth in World.

The robot can identify people through facial recognition system and give the answers which we have already been fed. Through facial recognition, the robot would recognise senior officials and salute them. The KP-Bot will be deployed to perform duties of the front office of the police headquarters which means that it will receive visitors and direct them to different places as and when required

It has a battery-based power system. It can be used continuously for eight hours.
